Journey Overview

Faith, history and Anatolian hospitality in one seamless journey

The Istanbul that locals keep for themselves. Climb the rainbow streets of Balat and Fener past antique shops and third-wave coffee houses, stand before the finest Byzantine mosaics in the world at Chora, take the cable car to Pierre Loti for tea above the Golden Horn, then cross to the Asian shore for the markets of Kadikoy, the seaside calm of Moda and the painted wooden houses of Kuzguncuk.

Designed for partner agencies whose clients have seen the headline sights and want a slower, walking-focused Istanbul — a repeat visitor's tour, a culture-led break, or a local-flavour extension to a wider program.

The very stones and soil of Istanbul are gold.

Frequently Asked

Questions from partner agencies

When is the best time to run this off-the-beaten-path tour?

April to June and September to October are ideal — mild, dry days that suit the walking-focused pace through Balat, the Asian shore and the hillside cafes, with soft light for photography. The program runs year-round; summer is warm and lively, while winter is quiet and atmospheric, with only the occasional rainy day to plan around.

How much walking does this tour involve, and who is it best for?

It is deliberately walking-focused, with cobbled, hilly streets in Balat and Fener and neighbourhood strolls on the Asian shore, so it suits reasonably mobile clients and repeat visitors who have already seen the headline sights. We can soften the pace, add more vehicle support and shorten the climbs for older or less mobile groups — just tell us and we will adapt the route.

Is this a private tour or a shared group departure?

It is fully private — your clients travel with their own licensed guide and driver throughout, at their own pace, with time to linger in the shops and cafes that make these neighbourhoods special. There are no strangers on the tour and no fixed departure dates; we run it on the days your booking needs.

What group size does this program suit, and is there a minimum?

It is operated as a private tour, so it scales from couples and small families to larger groups. We typically confirm from around 2 pax upward; for larger groups we assign additional guides and split the walking parties to keep the neighbourhoods enjoyable. Tell us your expected pax and we will size the guiding accordingly.

What is included in your rate, and what does the agent keep as margin?

We quote net agency rates on application — there are no public prices, so you set your own retail margin. The rate covers 3 nights in a 4–5★ hotel on B&B, 2 lunches, the Pierre Loti cable car and all ferry crossings, entrance fees to all listed sites including Chora, a private licensed guide and private transport and airport transfers. Flights, dinners, personal expenses and tips are not included.

How much does the tour cost?

We do not publish prices. As a B2B destination management company we quote confidential net rates to partner agencies on request, so your clients never see our pricing and you keep full control of your retail margin. Send us your dates and pax and we will return a net quote and a rate breakdown.

Is there a single supplement for solo travellers?

Yes — hotel rates are based on double or twin occupancy, so a single supplement applies for guests requiring their own room. The supplement is set out in the net rate breakdown we send with your quote.
